Well, as many of you may or may not know, I along with good internet pal, Daphne have been leading a campaign to rid the CBS daytime drama, "The Young and the Restless" of its Executive Producer/Head Writer, Maria Arena Bell (MAB) and her two co-head writers, Scott Hamner (SH) and Hogan Sheffer (HS). We will continue with that campaign until we do accomplish the goal of ridding Y&R of those three individuals.
Having said that, I also created another blog: http://whatiwoulddoifiwereatthehelmofyr.blogspot.com/ . In that blog I detailed very clearly the changes that I would make to Y&R if I were in charge of the show as Executive Producer. Granted, I know it'll never happen but it does detail the numerous changes that need to be made at Y&R in order to bring the show back under budget and to slash up to 16 contract/recurring cast members in order to free up some serious money to bring back Melody Thomas Scott, get the show a brand new show opening montage, along with updating many of its sets and most definitely, its wardrobe as well as a number of other things that need to be changed at Y&R.
Unfortunately, during the late morning hours of Thursday, September 8, 2011, a woman by the name of Kelly (that's all I'm giving out......she'll know I'm referring to her), attacked me verbally regarding my viewpoints via my @FireMABCompany twitter feed. She told me that she agrees with wanting to rid the show of MAB, SH, and HS. However, in the same breath, she felt that my own personal views separate from the goal of ridding Y&R of the three individuals that are slowly killing this show in regards to ridding the show of up to 16 cast members was a detriment to the show and to the cause as a whole. I pretty much told her that both issues are separate matters and I have kept them as separate matters. She still continued to verbally attack me on twitter. I'd finally had enough of her abuse, removed and blocked her from the @FireMABCompany twitter followers and also removed her from the list of those we follow. I did the very same thing on my own personal twitter feed @mandrews2350.
The beauty of this country is that we can express our viewpoints in a number of different ways, which is what I'm doing, albeit, two-folded but separate issues. What is NOT so BEAUTIFUL is being verbally attacked for being allowed to have two separate viewpoints, both of whom are separate from each other.
So, in closing, I am entitled to my viewpoints, which there are two of them but they are totally separate issues. What others are not entitled to do is verbally (written obviously) attacking people for their viewpoints. I will not put up with this and no one should have to put up with this. At the very least, all you really need to say is, "I disagree with your stance on such and such an issue." But you do not have the right to attack me on twitter just because I feel that some serious changes need to be made at a show that is going on 35 years but a show that is slowly being driven into an early grave. You don't have to like what I have said, but at least respect me enough to say that I have that right to say what I said instead of verbally attacking me.
If there are any other folks out there who read my very, very long blog about the changes that I would make at Y&R and don't like it and feel like they need to verbally attack me, do something else instead, take me off of your twitter feed.
There is just too much hate in this world to let such a petty squabble deter a few from the bigger goal over a series of smaller goals that I'm sure will likely not happen.
